I recently came across an adorable cookie recipe on 17 and Baking. This afternoon, with nothing to do after my bike ride, I decided to channel my inner baker. It was a four-hour affair!
I think the cookies turned out pretty good, considering the fact that I NEVER stray away from the Toll House chocolate chip cookie recipe. Until now, that is. The recipe was daunting and complicated, and by the time I was finished, my fingers were sore from molding each piece of dough into the log shape. I ended up with 8 dozen cookies, so I gave some to my aunt, brought some to my friend's BBQ, and put the rest on a pretty tray in my kitchen.
Checkerboard cookies: success!
