I'm lost. Mentally and physically. Mentally, I'm worried about college again. Physically, I went the wrong way on the expressway and wound up in Barrington.
I'm lost.
So here I sit, sipping a cup of coffee and observing people. There's a table of high schoolers across from me. They've been talking about everything from Lady GaGa to extreme sledding. And I like them, from a distance. In the corner, there's a man with a laptop. He's an author, maybe, or a husband taking a break from his kids. Two old ladies are here, too, enjoying a plate of banana bread and each other. "Lake Michigan" by Rogue Wave came on a few minutes ago, and I seemed to be the only one who recognized it.
I'm lost.
But right now, I'm content just sitting here.
