adventures of a sick intern

I walked into the Hinsdalean today expecting to take a seat at my desk like usual. But then I heard, "Melanie, is that you? Thank God you're here!" Ah, yes. They wanted me to do something. Which, of course, I don't mind, but today I was feeling pretty sick. Anyways. I was awarded the job of walking around town and delivering a paper to every single business. Sounds easy, right? Wrong. Schlepping through Hinsdale carrying stacks of papers while suffering from a cold is a lot harder than it sounds. By the time I was halfway done, I had to run up the street to my house so that I could sneak in a quick turkey-and-cheese sandwich. And boy, was I tired when I finally finished the route. But I did learn a few things: one, there are more stores in Hinsdale than I thought. And two, never wear a white top while clutching copies of the paper. Unless you're into black ink splotches.
